819 cameras to monitor flow of traffic – CCTVs to be installed on Jaber Bridge

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: Sicora, a company specialized in video monitoring systems, has provided Kuwait with 819 fixed CCTVs to monitor traffic movement and 25 PTX cameras to spot traffic jams or accidents, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting an article published on the website of Kayola Group for Construction and Environment.

The CCTVs will be installed along Jaber Bridge which will be completed in January. This is considered one of the longest bridges in the world. The website said Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works requested the distributor of SIKORA products in the Middle East and West Asia to supply CCTVs in a bid to ensure the safety of motorists who will be using Jaber Bridge and to monitor traffic movement upon completion of this project.

Kuwait National Newspapers Archive (Kuwait Memory) is one of the achievements of the Central Agency for Information Technology, providing a big number of newspapers such as Al-Qabas, Al- Seyassah, Alrai, Al-Anba and Al- Watan, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The digital archive is the biggest in the country which allows access to any newspaper that can be searched by year, month and day to get news and articles. The website also allows access to the official gazette ‘Kuwait Al- Youm’; any decision, Amiri decree or legislation; and vital websites such as that of the Cabinet, Kuwait e-gate, National Assembly, Kuwait Studies and Research Center, Kuwait National Library and Secretariat General of the Cabinet.
