KUWAIT CITY, March 18: The Al-Qabas conducted a poll for citizens and the results show 81 percent of the people polled support the imposition of curfew, reports the daily. Taking part in the ‘Twitter’ poll were 6,488 people and Instagram 2,583.

The result showed 9,071 people favored the imposition of curfew. On the other hand, it appears the successive awareness campaigns organized over the past days have paid off and this is evident by people’s commitment to home quarantine.

The reliable sources told the daily, the commitment rate was between 90 to 95 percent for Kuwaitis and about 70 percent for expatriates according to what has been monitored by preventive health teams working at various health centers.

According to these sources, many people violated the ‘mandatory quarantine’ rules when it was applied at the beginning, but gradually the violations decreased with increasing awareness and the government took punitive measures.

The sources indicated the areas of non-compliance were ‘bachelors’ residing particularly in Farwaniya, Khaitan, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Bneid Al-Qar.
