8 Kuwaitis detention extended in bribery case

KUWAIT CITY, March 19: The detention renewal judge ordered the extension of the detention of eight citizens for a period of two weeks, pending investigations into charges that include bribery, intentional damage to State property, facilitating the unlawful acquisition of agricultural plots, forgery and money laundering linked to farm sales between 2017 and 2020.

Since the beginning of the investigation, the Public Prosecution has taken immediate and decisive measures, including freezing the bank accounts of the accused and suspending financial or real estate transactions linked to the cases under review. It is worth noting that the detention of other defendants—including former employees and officials of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR)—was also extended during a previous hearing.
