KUWAIT CITY, May 1: Authorities in Kuwait intensified security measures on Friday as part of ongoing efforts to curb violations, leading to the arrest of eight individuals for illegally selling goods in the Fahaheel and Mahboula areas.
The Ahmadi Governorate Security Directorate, through its Operations and Patrols Department, carried out extensive inspection campaigns on May 1, 2026. During the operation, the suspects were caught setting up makeshift stalls without permits.
Officials said the seized items included tobacco products, vegetables, clothing, shoes, and various household appliances and electronic devices.
All suspects have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action, while coordination is underway with Kuwait Municipality to address the spread of unauthorized street stalls in the targeted areas.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated that such inspection campaigns will continue across the country to tackle violations and maintain public order. It also called on citizens and residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any illegal activities.
