8 Drug Peddlers Arrested, Large Quantities of Narcotics Seized

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 21: Kuwait’s General Department for Drug Control has arrested eight suspects in seven separate cases as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse, the Ministry of Interior said.

The arrests were carried out by the Criminal Security Sector, with authorities seizing various types of narcotics believed to be intended for trafficking and personal use.

The seized items included:

  • 4,200 capsules of Lyrica (narcotic substance)
  • 400 Captagon tablets
  • 100 glass bottles containing liquid Chemical narcotic substance
  • 100 A4 paper sheets saturated with Chemical narcotic substance
  • 61 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 1 litre of liquid Chemical narcotic substance prepared for distribution
  • 2 grams of Chemical narcotic substance
  • 2.6 litres of hashish oil prepared for distribution
  • KD 700 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking
  • Various drug-related paraphernalia

In one operation conducted through coordination between the General Department for Drug Control and the General Administration of Customs, authorities detected a shipment containing papers soaked with the narcotic substance known as Chemical (A4).

Following a carefully planned operation, officers arrested the intended recipient of the shipment. A search of the suspect’s residence led to the discovery of additional quantities of liquid Chemical narcotics.

The suspects and seized items have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action. The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting society from the dangers of narcotics.
