MOSCOW, Aug 17: At least six people were killed and four injured in a Ukrainian missile strike on a village in Russia’s Belgorod region, while two people were killed and three wounded in Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, regional officials said Monday.
Acting Belgorod Governor Alexander Shuvaev said Ukrainian forces struck the village of Koloskovo in the Valuysky municipal district, killing six civilians and injuring four others, including a child.
Shuvaev said two of the injured declined hospitalization after receiving medical treatment, while the others, including the child, were taken to a local hospital.
In Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia Governor Ivan Fedorov said Russian forces carried out 1,217 strikes on 60 settlements across the region over a 24-hour period, killing two people and injuring three others.
The latest casualty claims from both sides could not be independently verified.
