7,000 ton of onions being imported from India

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 11: An official source in the Ministry of Trade and Industry revealed that 320 containers of onions from India are being imported which is expected to reach the country during the next week to cover the market need and in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan .

Sources pointed out that the Ministry of Commerce bears all expenses for shipping, handling and refrigeration to help importers cover the needs of the local market of vegetables and fruits, and to support them with the aim of not raising prices on consumers, as part of the state’s efforts to provide food security for the country.
