KUWAIT CITY, Sep 8: The Ministry of Education has begun issuing termination notices to around 7,000 teachers of various Arab and other nationalities as part of the first phase of measures to address a surplus of teaching staff in schools.

Dozens of teachers whose contracts are being terminated have already received notifications through the Sahel application under the title “Contract Termination Notice.” The notifications state that the Ministry is proceeding with the termination of the teachers’ second contracts during their validity, in accordance with the relevant contractual clause and subject to the prescribed notice period.

The move is part of the ministry’s efforts to address staffing imbalances and reduce the surplus of teachers across various educational sectors. Further details on the implementation of the terminations and the affected categories are expected as the process continues.
