Criminal Court sentences Saudis to seven years for falsely claiming missing Kuwaiti’s identity.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: The Criminal Court has sentenced two Saudi defendants to seven years in prison for falsely claiming the identity of a Kuwaiti individual who went missing in 1995.

The charges include forging Kuwaiti nationality and civil ID. During the court proceedings, the judge questioned the first defendant about the whereabouts of the original person they impersonated, who had been missing since 1995. In response, the first defendant audaciously claimed, “I am the original person.” The judge pressed further, asking where the individual had been hiding, to which the response was, “I was a traveler between countries.”

Similarly, the second accused was questioned about the location of the original person they assumed. The second accused boldly asserted, “I am this person, and I was living outside Kuwait.”
