KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: In a decisive move to uphold professional ethics and integrity within the educational sector, the Ministry of Education, under the directives of Minister Engineer Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai, has referred seven teachers to investigation and suspended them from work for three months in the interest of maintaining educational standards. The action comes in response to serious violations deemed inconsistent with the principles of responsibility and the noble mission of the teaching profession.
According to the Ministry, three female teachers were found to have published trial versions of new curriculum textbooks electronically before official approval, in clear breach of regulations and a violation of professional integrity.
Two other female teachers were cited for engaging in behavior contrary to public conduct within school premises, actions considered incompatible with the ethical and educational standards expected of educators, and detrimental to the exemplary role teachers play in shaping students’ values.
Additionally, two teachers were referred for investigation after physically assaulting students, a behavior described by the Ministry as completely unacceptable and in violation of laws protecting students’ physical and psychological well-being.
The Ministry emphasized that such violations are isolated incidents and do not reflect the dedication and integrity of the majority of teachers, who continue to fulfill their role in building future generations and promoting values within the educational system.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct, ensuring that the law is applied fairly to protect students’ rights, preserve the dignity of the teaching profession, and maintain public trust in education.
It concluded by stressing that teachers are role models and pillars of the educational mission, whose responsibilities extend beyond imparting knowledge to instilling discipline, values, and respect, and that any breach of these duties will be met with firm action.
