7 local firms to bid for project

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: According to a report issued by the MEED magazine, the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) plans to invite seven selected local companies to submit bids for the design and supervision of project No. 2 of the company’s office complex, reports Al-Anba daily.

The report explained that the seven companies that the Kuwait Oil Company intends to invite to bid are:
■ KEO International Consultants
■ SQC International Consultants
■ United Engineering and Technical Consultants
■ Pan Arab Consulting Engineers
■ SSH International Consultants
■ Island advisors.
■ Al-Habashi Engineering Consultancy Office

According to a statement published in the official gazette, the company gave companies, which are not included in the list, the opportunity to participate and submit their offers by forming alliances within 30 days after publishing the statement. It should be noted that the Kuwait Oil Company completed the construction of another office complex in Ahmadi City in 2009.

This project included the construction of six buildings for the main offices with a total construction area of about 80,000 square meters. The contractor for the project was the local International Building Company. The Gulf Local Consultancy Company assumed the role of design consultant.
