KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: The Ministry of Justice has issued a ministerial decree outlining official working hours and attendance procedures, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The decree specifies that official working hours for all sectors of the ministry, including its general departments, affiliated administrations, and other organizational units, will be seven hours daily from Sunday to Thursday. Employees may arrive at any time between 7:00 am and 8:00 am, and leave after completing seven hours of work, based on their arrival time, without affecting the legally mandated grace period. The decree exempts employees who are subject to reduced working hours for any legal reason and those under the system of unpaid partial absence.
Their arrival and departure times will be determined according to special regulations. It also clarifies the rules for calculating grace periods, stating that these periods are not counted toward the start of the workday after the last arrival time. Any minutes of lateness beyond the end of the grace period will be counted toward the start of the workday.
Meanwhile, official working hours at service centers are set at seven hours daily, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a grace period at the beginning and end of the workday as determined by legal regulations. It also specifies working hours for employees under the unpaid partial absence system, according to four approved timeframes. Employees are required to verify their presence at the workplace during official hours using fingerprint attendance.
