Moreover, the General Traffic Department, which is also under the Traffic and Operations Sector, continued its intensive traffic campaigns on July 20-26. The department announced that its campaigns led to the issuance of 24,979 traffic violation citations, detention of 18 individuals at the traffic police station, referral of eight juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution, impoundment of 223 vehicles and nine motorcycles, handling of 2,673 traffic reports, and investigation of 933 collisions, along with 170 other collisions that resulted in injuries.
On the security front, two individuals suspected of possessing narcotics and five individuals in an abnormal condition were arrested and referred to DCGD, 52 individuals were arrested for holding expired residency permits and one individual who failed to present a valid identification, while 42 wanted individuals and 11 wanted vehicles were referred to the concerned authorities. The department confirmed the continuation of its campaigns in all governorates, urging motorists to adhere to the traffic regulations and fully cooperate with the law enforcers.
