KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The Director General of Kuwait Municipality, Engineer Manal Al-Asfour, has issued an administrative decision requiring the owners of 67 properties in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area to evacuate and demolish the buildings on their land. The decision, published in the Official Gazette (Kuwait Alyoum) on Sunday, November 8, 2025, comes after municipal inspections revealed that the structures were dilapidated and at risk of collapse.

Reason for the Decision

Reports from the Government Center for Testing, Quality Control, and Research, under the Ministry of Public Works, confirmed that the buildings pose a serious threat to public safety due to their unsafe condition. The municipality emphasized that the demolition is necessary to protect lives, property, and public safety in the area.

Timeline and Enforcement

The administrative order requires the property owners to evacuate and remove the buildings within two weeks from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

The municipality’s relevant department will closely monitor compliance during this period. Should the owners fail to take the necessary action within the stipulated timeframe, the municipality has confirmed that it will intervene directly to carry out the demolition.

Municipality Statement

Engineer Manal Al-Asfour reiterated the municipality’s commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining urban standards, highlighting that regular inspections and preventive measures are part of ongoing efforts to prevent accidents and safeguard residents.
