LONDON, Jul 8: Tens of millions of barrels of Iranian crude have been left stranded at sea after the United States revoked a 60-day waiver that had allowed Tehran to continue selling its oil, according to a Bloomberg report published on Wednesday.

Bloomberg, citing shipping analytics firm Vortexa, reported that around 63 million barrels of Iranian oil are currently on tankers either in transit or idling without confirmed destinations.

The crude is being held aboard vessels across the Persian Gulf and Asian waters, with many tankers reportedly showing no clear destination or indicating they are awaiting new orders following Washington's decision.

The move adds fresh uncertainty to Iran's oil exports as tensions continue to escalate between Tehran and Washington.

Separately, Bloomberg reported that a small number of commercial vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz early Wednesday despite recent attacks on tankers in the strategic waterway. The incidents have heightened concerns among shipowners and operators, who are reassessing the risks of navigating one of the world's busiest oil shipping routes.

The developments come amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Gulf, raising further concerns over global energy supplies and maritime security
