Customs seizes 6,000 liters of foreign liquor

KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have intensified their efforts to arrest a citizen who tried to smuggle into the country 6,000 liters of foreign liquor into the country before the Eid al-Fitr by using jerry cans and disguising the cargo as ethanol, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said the brother of the fugitive who went to collect the cargo from the port, said he was unaware of the contents of the container and that his brother had requested him to complete the paperwork on his behalf and that he was paid to do the job.

The Director-General of the General Administration of Customs, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, thanked the Shuwaikh customs officers for their vigilance that enabled them to discover one of the latest methods of smuggling imported alcohol.
