KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: The decision to allow the renewal of work permits for expatriate workers who have reached the age of sixty years and above, who hold a high school certificate or less and its equivalent certificates, was met with great satisfaction by this category of expatriates. A number of the 60-year-olds said that they had lived in Kuwait most of their lives and it was not easy to leave this land of good. The amendment of the decision was pleasing to hear because it gives them a sense of reassurance and stability, they stressed .
The renewal of work permits for the non-graduate expatriates, 60-year-old and above will begin from next Sunday, after the decision is published in the official gazette ‘Kuwait Al-Youm’, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable government sources. The daily added, the labor departments are waiting for the publication of the decision to receive transactions, either through the easier electronic system or the electronic forms system.
Meanwhile, the sources in the insurance sector said, so far there is no official communication from the insurance companies to determine the mechanism for insurance policies for this category of expatriates, but they suggested that the price of the policy will range between 400 and 500 dinars, with the possibility of offering it in the form of a tender for listed companies specialized in insurance to ensure the provision of the best health care services and not to manipulate the prices of documents.
