6 new deaths and 472 infections in Saudi

RIYADH, April 13 (KUNA) — Saudi Arabia announced on Monday recording six new deaths resulting from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Official spokesperson of the Saudi Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammad Al-Abdulali said in his daily briefing about the pandemic that total number of people who lost their lives due to infection with the virus rose to 65 in the kingdom.


Up to 472 new infection cases were registered, thus total number of people who contracted the virus in Saudi Arabia amounted to 4,934.
He added that 44 recovery cases were recorded, bringing whole number of such cases to 805. However, 59 individuals suffering from the infection continued to receive intensive medical care.


Meanwhile, Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said in a statement the kingdom was seeking to work out “a treatment protocol” to ensure rapid recuperation among infected people.


He has also indicated that numbers of people contracting the disease has recently started to increase, “illustrating volume of challenge and the hard task for us all.”


The coronavirus outbreak, first reported in China late last year, had spilled over to the Middle East and the Gulf region, including GCC countries, Iran and Iraq

UAE

The UAE reported on Monday three coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths, putting the total at 25 within the last 24 hours.
The Emirati authorities announced 172 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total to 852.
Since yesterday, the UAE announced 387 cases of infection and thus the total reached 4,123.

Qatar

Qatar announced, Monday, a staggering 252 new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,231 cases.
According to the Health Ministry, recoveries from the virus reached 59, putting the grand total at 334.
The ministry indicated that the new infections were attributed to cases where individuals got in contact with people previously contracting the global-spreading disease

Oman

Oman reported 128 new coronavirus infections, taking the total to 727, said the health ministry Monday.
The Omani new agency quoted the ministry as saying that 15 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours to reach 124 recoveries, adding that four death cases were confirmed in the country.
