ABU DHABI: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has announced that citizens of six additional countries and their families will now be eligible for visa-on-arrival entry to the UAE.
The new measure applies to passport holders from Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa, provided they hold valid residency permits from the United States, European Union countries, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada.
Eligible travelers can obtain either a 14-day visa-on-arrival, renewable once, or a 60-day visa-on-arrival, which is issued only once and cannot be extended.
The ICP said the move is part of efforts to enhance visa services, broaden eligibility, and support tourism, business and family visits to the UAE.
Authorities said visitors must leave the country once their visa expires, regardless of the visa type. Overstaying will result in a fine of AED50 per day.
The fee for a 14-day visa is AED100, while a 60-day visa costs AED250.
