57,600 babies were born last year: PACI

33,200 Kuwaitis and 24,400 non-Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, June 9: The latest statistics released by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) showed that 57,600 babies were born in 2017 – 33,200 Kuwaitis and 24,400 non-Kuwaitis, reports Al-Qabas daily. The statistics also revealed that 2,600 twins were born last year and 1,600 of them are Kuwaitis.

Around 4,000 of those born in 2017 have Kuwaiti fathers and Arab mothers while 28,850 have Kuwaiti parents, 49 have Kuwaiti fathers and North American mothers, 13 have Kuwaiti fathers and South American mothers, six have Kuwaiti fathers and Australian mothers, 1,512 have Kuwaiti mothers and Arab fathers, 60 have Kuwaiti mothers and Asian fathers, eight have Kuwaiti mothers and European fathers, and one has Kuwaiti mother and African father.
