KUWAIT CITY, May 30: The statistics issued by the General Traffic Department (GTD) for the past week (from May 22 to 28) shows during a campaign against reckless drivers and violators of the traffic laws, the security authorities have issued 33,359 traffic citations and arrested 53 motorists and referred 16 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution, reports Al-Rai daily. The traffic policemen also impounded 244 vehicles and two motorcycles and towed them to the ministry’s reservation garage. During the campaign the securitymen also arrested 7 men wanted by law and seized 10 vehicles wanted in connection with dispute with the judiciary; four drug addicts were also arrested and referred to the General Department for Drugs Control (GDDC).
