KUWAIT, Aug 16: Kuwait Ministry of Health said Sunday 508 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic while three persons died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA total registered infections reached 76,205 and tally of fatalities topped 501.
Al-Sanad said 117 patients were treated in the intensive care units.
He noted 7,569 patients were still receiving medical care.
Health care workers conducted 2,863 swab tests in the past 24 hours, said Al-Sanad, raising total tests since outbreak of the pandemic in Kuwait to 558,800.
Al-Sanad urged the public anew to maintain physical distancing and hygienic measures, as well as getting information from official sources.
The MoH announced earlier today recovery of 616 people to raise their total to 68,135. (KUNA)
