'Al-Makshat 2': Kuwait's game-changing fusion of marine and terrestrial delights.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: In a significant development, Abdulaziz Sari, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, expressed his enthusiasm for the groundbreaking "Al-Makshat 2" project located on the northern island of the Jaber Bridge. He deemed it a qualitative leap forward in bolstering tourism and entertainment in Kuwait by seamlessly blending marine and terrestrial environments within a sprawling 50,000-square-meter area.

'Al-Makshat 2' welcomes 5,000 visitors to Kuwait's oasis.

During a tour on Thursday evening at the Makshat site, Sari shared insights with Al-Rai, highlighting the project's substantial growth compared to its predecessor, "Al Makshat 1," covering a mere 10,000 square meters. He credited this expansion to support and funding from the National Cooperative Projects Committee in coordination with the Federation of Associations.

The project encompasses 60 huts and 30 diverse restaurants, along with a central restaurant catering to the huts, offering a variety of Kuwaiti and international culinary delights. Additionally, there are 30 shopping booths, a popular café area, a children's game zone, an open-air cinema, a theater, and a miniature garden featuring animals and horses. The space will host numerous recreational activities organized by government agencies and public benefit associations.

Sari emphasized the Ministry's commitment to supporting productive families, individuals with special needs, and handicraft owners through the project. The huts, inspired by the Kuwaiti environment, are categorized into three groups the desert, the sea, and ancient art.

With a focus on compatibility with weather conditions, especially during the winter season, Sari pointed out the Ministry's vigilance over the project's execution and the quality of services provided by restaurants.

The project includes dedicated huts for government agencies like the Ministries of Health and Interior, the General Administration of Civil Defense, and renowned volunteer teams supervised by the Ministry of Affairs, such as the Kuwait Expo Team for Crafts and Handicrafts. The project organizers are closely monitoring all activities, particularly those related to restaurants, ensuring top-notch meals for visitors.

During the tour, Al-Rai observed the meticulous organization and cleanliness at "Makshat 2," applauding the efforts of workers and volunteers. Security personnel are present to facilitate the smooth entry and exit of vehicles.

To ensure inclusivity, the organizers have provided services for people with special needs, offering free entry, access through dedicated gates, and wheelchair-friendly pathways.

Originally designed for 3,500 visitors, the project's capacity was increased to accommodate 5,000 visitors due to overwhelming demand and reservations through the Makshat website. There is ongoing consideration for extending the Makshat period until Eid Al-Adha.
