KUWAIT CITY, Jun 9: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has issued 50 citations against salons and health institutes for violating approved health regulations, following joint inspection campaigns across the country aimed at strengthening public health oversight.

Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, Dr. Al-Mundhir Al-Hasawi, said in a statement that the inspections focused on compliance with infection control standards, including proper cleaning, disinfection and sterilization procedures, as well as verification of employees’ health and fitness certificates.

He said the campaigns are intended to ensure a safe environment for service users, reduce the risk of disease transmission, and improve adherence to preventive health practices in facilities directly linked to public health.

Dr. Mona Al-Khabbaz, who heads the monitoring committee, said the inspection mechanism includes six subcommittees operating across all governorates, with participation from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Kuwait Municipality.

She added that inspection teams will continue regular field visits and that authorities will not tolerate violations that could endanger public health, urging salon and institute owners to comply fully with regulations to ensure safety and service quality.

The Ministry said the nationwide campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance preventive oversight and maintain health standards in establishments serving the public.
