KUWAIT CITY, April 22: The Public Prosecution continues to detain the 50 persons who are charged with trading in visas pending further investigation.

The daily quoting knowledgeable sources said the Prosecution received yesterday 17 reports from the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) against companies which sponsored workers without actually needing them or their services.

The sources added the Prosecution has addressed the ministries of Social Affairs and Commerce and Industry and PAM to stop the transactions and suspend the licenses of the companies which have been referred to the Prosecution – companies that are involved in phantom employment and human trafficking – until they are absolved of human trafficking, money laundering and violating labor and residence laws.
