KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: The Criminal Court on Monday sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to five-year imprisonment for impersonating a ruling family member on Instagram and usurping KD 63,000 and then KD 80,000 from a Kuwaiti woman after deceiving her with promises of marriage and commercial projects. The Public Prosecution charged him with deceiving the victim with the intent to mislead her into handing over money. He impersonated a ruling family member, deceived her with a fake marriage proposal, and fabricated a fictitious project.

He further deceived her by creating a fraudulent financial portfolio linked to a prominent figure in the country. This manipulation led her to borrow money from a bank to fund the supposed project. The security services arrested him after discovering his trend of impersonating a ruling family member and defrauding women. He was referred to the Central Prison on charges of fraud and deception of women by deceiving them with fictitious projects and marriage proposals.
