KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: The Court of Appeals acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who was sentenced by a lower court to fiveyear imprisonment for kidnapping the defendant and stealing his money, because the court found faults in the statements of the victim, who was not made to recognize the accused.

According to the Public Prosecution, the citizen was accused of kidnapping the victim by tricking him into moving from the place where he was to another place, then stealing the money in his possession by threatening to use violence against him, and escaping after committing his crime. During the court session, the defense counsel Lawyer Ayed Al-Rashidi stressed that the documents were devoid of certain necessary evidence, as the evidence presented was limited to the detective officer’s testimony, as per which his client was not presented to the victim to be identified, and his client had completely denied all the charges.By Jaber Al-Hamoud Al-Seyassah Staff
