KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: The security authorities have arrested five beggars of Arab nationality for begging for alms following complaints by citizens, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, two of the beggars were two children three years old. They were caught inside commercial markets. The source said the concerned authority is launching intensive campaigns on beggars especially after the Ministry of Interior has been informed that this phenomenon has increased over the past three months.

The ministry also said over the past three months 25 beggars of various nationalities have been arrested and deported from the country. The daily said the General Directorate of Migration Investigation has allocated teams of inspectors wearing civilian clothes to cooperate with the General Security Departments in the six governorates to reduce the phenomenon.
