472 Kuwaitis Repatriated From Riyadh

RIYADH, March 13 — The Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressed deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support of Kuwaiti citizens stranded in the country since the onset of recent Iranian attacks in the region.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency while overseeing the transfer of stranded citizens via land transport buses from Riyadh to Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah highlighted the Kingdom’s “generous and unsurprising stance” in hosting Kuwaitis and providing care in accordance with directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz to accommodate Gulf Cooperation Council citizens until safe repatriation could be arranged.

Sheikh Sabah described the historic relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia as “immortal in the memory of history,” praising the Kingdom’s continued support and solidarity with Kuwait. He also prayed for the safety and security of both nations. He extended his congratulations to King Salman, the Crown Prince, and the Saudi people on the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.

The ambassador urged all Kuwaiti citizens in Saudi Arabia affected by recent events to contact the Kuwaiti embassy in Riyadh for assistance, emphasizing that “we are here to serve the people of Kuwait.”

According to the embassy, a total of 472 stranded Kuwaiti citizens were transported from Riyadh back to the State of Kuwait.
