KUWAIT CITY, Jul 5: The General Traffic Department recorded 4,629 traffic violations across all six governorates during a nationwide enforcement campaign carried out over Friday and Saturday.

According to official statistics, speeding violations detected by radar topped the list with 149 offenses, followed by 124 violations for failing to wear seat belts.

Authorities also issued 223 citations for illegal parking at hospitals as part of the intensified traffic campaign.

The operation resulted in 74 vehicles being impounded, while seven individuals were placed in precautionary detention. Three Kuwaiti citizens were referred to the Juvenile Detention Center, and six vehicles wanted under judicial impound orders were seized.

In addition, 10 residency law violators were detained and are set to be deported.

The General Traffic Department said the campaign forms part of ongoing security efforts to improve road safety, enforce traffic regulations, and curb reckless driving across the country.
