45 Arrested in Jleeb Al Shuyoukh for Cable, Copper and Car-Part Theft

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: The General Department of Criminal Investigation has arrested 45 people during an extensive security campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, following several reports of thefts, fires and other violations reported in the area.

The Ministry of Interior said the campaign was conducted as part of its continued security efforts to apprehend wanted persons, curb criminal activities and address practices that violate the law. Security personnel intensified search and investigation operations in the area following reports that raised concerns over repeated incidents.

According to the ministry, security checks revealed that 36 of those arrested were wanted in connection with cases of absence. Among them were two women wanted in connection with a case involving an illegitimate pregnancy. The two women were referred to the Department of Combating Trafficking in Persons and Negative Phenomena to complete the necessary legal procedures.

The investigation also led to the arrest of nine other individuals involved in various criminal cases and violations. Authorities said those cases included the theft of electrical cables, copper, iron, vehicle exhaust systems and women's accessories.

During the campaign, security personnel also arrested one person found in possession of tobacco, while another individual was found carrying substances suspected to be crystal methamphetamine and a chemical narcotic substance.

The Ministry of Interior said all necessary legal procedures were completed against those arrested before they were referred to the competent authorities for further action.

The ministry added that the required reports were also prepared concerning individuals against whom deportation orders had been issued, as part of measures to enforce Kuwait's laws and maintain security in the area.

The campaign forms part of the Interior Ministry's continuing field operations aimed at tracking wanted persons, combating theft and other criminal activities, and strengthening security presence in areas where violations and criminal incidents have been reported.
