The totally crushed truck after the fall from the bridge

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: The number of traffic accidents recorded in 2017 reached 71,161 and 428 of which resulted in death – 177 citizens, 206 expatriates, 21 Bedouns, 16 GCC citizens and eight persons of different nationalities.

According to statistics issued by the Ministry of Interior, most of the victims aged 21 to 30 years (117), followed by those aged 31 to 40 years (88), 41 to 50 years old (71), 10 to 20 years old (25), and 60 years old and above (21). Meanwhile, Hawally Governorate recorded the highest number of accidents with 19,697; followed by the Capital with 17,851; Farwaniya with 12,216; Ahmadi with 11,044; Mubarak Al-Kabeer with 5,784 and Jahra with 4,569. In addition, the number of accidents from 2012 to 2017 totaled 917,447 and 2,366 of which led to death.

A total of 454 deaths caused by traffic accidents were recorded in 2012, 445 in 2013, 461 in 2014, 429 in 2015, 424 in 2016, and 153 from January to April 2017.

Driver dead in bizarre mishap
An unidentified driver of a trailer truck died instantly when his truck fell from a bridge on King Fahad Expressway, reports Al-Shahed daily. The corpse of the driver has been referred to Forensics Department. The truck was removed from the road and traffic was organized. Investigations have been launched to determine the reason behind the road accident.
