KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: Acting Assistant Secretary General for Planning and Follow Up at the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development Nadia Al-Hamlan revealed that the corona crisis has affected the implementation and completion of 42 percent of the projects in the annual development plan for 2020/2021; while 58 percent were not affected, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Hamlan said the most important projects in the annual development plan include the environmental fuel project, Zour Refinery, expansion of Kuwait Airport Terminal 2, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, Mutlaa Residential City, and the development and modernization of the structural plan for Kuwait (fourth plan).

She affirmed that communication is ongoing with the managers of these projects, all of whom work in accordance with the health regulations set by the health authorities.

She added there were 660 challenges in the implementation of the 2019/2020 development plan and 75 of which were addressed. Among these challenges, those related to administrative functions topped the list at 37.6 percent, followed by technical challenges at 28.8 percent, and financial challenges at 15.6 percent. The projects included in the development plan are defined by timelines, implementation schedules and stages, she explained
