KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Ambassador of Austria to Kuwait Marian Wrba says the relations between the two countries are built on a close and deep friendship, adding, “We are doing our utmost to preserve and strengthen it.” This came in a speech he delivered on the occasion of Austrian National Day in the presence of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Nabil Al-Dakhil, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Mishaal. Ambassador Wrba said, “The important evidence of these excellent relations manifested in the last visit made by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah to Vienna in June where he met with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg and the Speaker of the Austrian Parliament Wolfgang Sobotka.

During this visit, the two sides agreed to intensify cooperation in all fields. A number of important bilateral agreements and communications were signed that will benefit our relations in many aspects. The goal of Austrian diplomacy is to deepen relations between our two countries and exchange at all levels and in all fields. Since our general meeting here last, we have been pleased to welcome more than 40,000 Kuwaiti citizens who visited Austria. From September, we have begun issuing a five-year Schengen visa to all Kuwaiti citizens traveling to Austria. This will make travel much easier and more convenient because the visa is valid for five years.
