KUWAIT CITY, April 19: The official gazette “Kuwait Al-Youm” Sunday published Cabinet Resolution No. 200/2026, which revokes the Kuwaiti citizenship of four individuals, along with those who acquired it through dependency. The resolution is based on Article 21 bis (a) of Amiri Decree No. 15/1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments. Article 21 bis (a) permits the revocation of citizenship if it is proven to have been obtained unlawfully through fraud, false statements, or the use of invalid documents.
In other news, Decree No. 59/2026 has been issued, repealing Decree No. 346/2007 on the establishment of the Government Performance Monitoring Agency (GPMA), reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Article 1 of the decree, which was published in the official gazette “Kuwait Al-Youm,” stipulates the cancellation of Decree No. 346/2007.
Article 2 assigns the responsibilities of GPMA, as outlined in the repealed decree, to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. It also allows the Council of Ministers to delegate any of these responsibilities to one or more public entities.
Article 3 provides for the transfer of permanent employees of GPMA to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), for placement in government entities with their existing grades and salaries. Article 4 stipulates the termination of services of temporary and contracted employees of GPMA, effective from the date of the decree, without prejudice to applicable procedures in this regard.
