KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector has solved four cases involving diesel theft and vandalism at telecommunications towers in the Jaber Al-Ahmad area, with authorities arresting four Indian nationals allegedly caught in the act.

The arrests were made by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, represented by the Capital Governorate Investigation Department, following intensified search and investigation efforts that included the use of modern technology and surveillance of telecommunications towers.

Investigations revealed that the suspects worked for a company contracted to maintain the towers and allegedly exploited their positions to steal quantities of diesel exceeding the normal amount allocated to the sites.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the suspects used part of the excess diesel to cover shortages at other towers, while allegedly stealing the remaining quantities for resale.

During questioning, the four suspects reportedly confessed to carrying out the thefts and related acts of vandalism over a period of two years at several locations. Investigators also linked them to similar incidents reported in other governorates.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities prepare to refer the suspects to the competent authorities for further legal action.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to combating theft and protecting vital facilities and installations, warning that firm action would be taken against anyone who tampers with public infrastructure or harms the country’s interests.
