4 Asians arrested for manufacturing liquor – 250 ‘Larika’ drug pills seized from three youths

KUWAIT CITY, April 13: Four Asian expatriates were arrested for manufacturing liquor in makeshift factories in Ahmadi and Jahra areas during campaigns launched under the guidance of Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen raided a location in Ahmadi area and discovered 87 barrels filled with locally manufactured liquor, 50 empty barrels, equipment used for filtering and steaming, 190 bags of sugar, two gas cylinders and other items.

They arrested two Asians who were present at the location and referred them with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for investigations.

Meanwhile, Jahra securitymen raided a liquor factory in Jahra area and arrested two Asian expatriates. They referred the suspects with the equipment confiscated from the location to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. In the meantime, three youths were arrested in possession of 250 narcotic pills locally known as ‘Larika’.

According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the area when they stopped three youths based on suspicions and checked them to find the narcotic pills and money. When questioned, the suspects confessed that they were planning to sell the drugs to their clients. They were referred with the narcotic pills to the Directorate General for Drug Control for investigations and necessary legal action against them
