3rd Stage decision to be made today or on Thursday

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 20: Informed government sources revealed plans to deal with the third stage with return to gradual life which the Council of Ministers after studying the plan and will adopt after today’s meeting or to postpone their announcement until Thursday.

The sources said that the three scenarios were presented for evaluation and for the opinion of the medical team and the Minister of Health Dr. Basel Al-Sabah.

The first scenario is to move to the third stage while maintaining the current curfew and dismantle it after the Eid.

The second scenario is the transition to the third stage as scheduled without any amendment, which means curfew stays on.

As for the last scenario, it is to postpone the transition to the third stage until Eid, all possibilities are looked into as to what the Ministry deems appropriate according to indicators of epidemic transmission and infection rates.

According to Al Qabas, the medical team evaluated the transition stage through several health criteria and indicators, the most important of which are the number of infections in intensive care, the number of deaths and the extent of spread of infected patients in hospitals and in the country and in unaffected areas.

The sources concluded that the some European countries who are advanced in health field opened the stages, but later they retreated because the virus spread again, the health authorities are keen in avoiding such situation.

Evaluating the conditions of Farwaniya to remove or continue isolation.

Cancel or maintain the partial ban or reduce the number of hours.

The start of the third stage of the return to normalcy plan, which includes opening hotels, resorts, hotel apartments, and taxis by allowing one passenger, visits to care homes, and workplaces in government agencies and the private sector less than 50%.

Merging and opening some activities of other stages such as health clubs, barber shops, salons and tailoring shops.
