39 cars seized in crackdown on ‘drifters’

KUWAIT CITY, May 6 : For the second consecutive day, the General Traffic Department launched a number of traffic campaigns to arrest reckless drivers and racers, during which the officers issued 96 traffic citations, seized 39 vehicles and detained 28 traffic violators in traffic custody.

They were held on Arabian Gulf Street, Second Ring Road, Damascus Street, Maghrib Street, Ibrahim Al- Muzain Road and Jahra Road. In the campaign, 20 civilian officers, 20 civilian patrol officers, nine military officers, and 51 police officers and warrant officers participated.

The General Department for Public Relations and Security Media of Ministry of Interior affirmed that such traffic campaigns will be held on all main roads and interior roads for arresting violators of traffic law and reckless drivers. It urged all Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to follow the traffic rules and regulations for ensuring the safety of their lives and properties.
