35 Pharmacies issued citations

KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Ministry of Commerce and Industry embarked on a tour of several pharmacies, stores, markets and cooperative societies to check availability and prices of foodstuffs.

In a statement, the ministry added that inspection teams visited 156 pharmacies and commercial complexes during which they issued 35 citations against violations related to artificial prices hike.

They also closed a shop and reopened a vegetable store after the owner amended his status, adding the sector received 97 complaints via hotline 135.

Ministry of Commerce issued circular no. 4/2020 for commercial complexes, markets and stores to create an environment that will protect visitors against coronavirus, including the fruit and vegetable markets in Andalous area, as well as fish markets in Kuwait.
