KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Maryam Al-Aqeel has started the process of replacing expatriates working in the Ministry of Social Affairs with nationals, reports Al-Rai daily.

Undersecretary of the Social Affairs Ministry of Affairs Abdulaziz Shuaib recently issued a decision to terminate 34 expatriate workers under the second contract; including a legal advisor in the Office of the Minister, an accounting specialist in the Office of the Undersecretary, a senior legal specialist in the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Cooperatives Sector, and social and psychological service specialists in the Social Care Sector.

A responsible source told the daily that the procedures for terminating expatriates working in the ministry are in line with the State’s policy to replace foreign governmental sector workers with citizens, in addition to the fact that some of them have reached the legal retirement age -- 60 years old.
