3,375 expats deported from Kuwait in December

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: The Ministry of Interior has deported a total of 3,375 expatriates so far this month due to violations of the residency and labor laws. According to informed sources, about 1,991 men and 1,384 women were referred to the deportation department by the various sectors of the Ministry of Interior. Majority of them violated the residency and labor laws, while the others were either marginal workers or were in violation of public morals after they were caught in suspicious dens. The sources affirmed that the security campaigns will continue to be held in all governorates and at different times in the morning and evening. In a related context, the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media of the Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 309 expatriates recently for violating residency and labor laws.

Campaigns
It explained that the campaigns conducted by the General Department of Residency Affairs Investigations, represented by the Research and Investigation Department, the Control and Coordination Department, the Violators Follow-up Department, and the Financial and Administrative Services Department resulted in the arrest of 300 expatriates, who violated the residency and labor laws, in Farwaniya, Khaitan, Al-Qurain Markets, Salhiya, and Shuwaikh areas. Also, nine individuals were arrested for working in mobile groceries without obtaining the relevant licenses. The arrested individuals have been referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. According to sources, the campaigns included representatives of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and Kuwait Municipality.
