33 Pharmacies Found Violating Regulations as Court Supports MOH Crackdown

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: In its commitment to upholding the rule of law and strengthening regulations governing healthcare professions, the Ministry of Health has welcomed recent court rulings that bring the total number of pharmacies confirmed to violate regulations to 33.

These rulings reaffirm the Ministry’s sound oversight approach and its efforts to ensure that pharmacists fully comply with the country’s legal and regulatory standards.

The latest judgment upholds the decisions made by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi to revoke the licenses of four pharmacies and order their closure due to regulatory violations. This follows earlier rulings issued in July that confirmed his decisions regarding 27 other non-compliant pharmacies, further demonstrating the judiciary’s support for measures aimed at enhancing professionalism and integrity within the pharmaceutical sector.

The Ministry of Health reiterates its firm stance against any violations or practices that undermine the healthcare and pharmaceutical professions. It remains committed to taking all necessary legal and regulatory actions to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, safeguard public health, and maintain public confidence in healthcare services.

The Ministry also expresses its deep appreciation for the crucial national role played by the esteemed Kuwaiti judiciary. It extends its gratitude to its partners in the Fatwa and Legislation Department, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Municipality, and the Public Authority for Manpower for their active contributions in regulating professional practices and ensuring a safe and disciplined work environment.

These rulings, the Ministry affirms, send a clear and decisive message: respect for the law is the foundation of healthcare practice. The Ministry remains fully committed to its regulatory and legislative responsibilities, upholding the highest principles of integrity, transparency, and the public interest.
