3,000 Residence violators held

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: Statistics issued by the Public Security Sector of the Ministry of Interior shows the Farwaniya Governorate Security Directorate, upon instructions of its Director-General Brigadier Abdullah Saffah, carried out extensive security campaigns from Sept 10, 2021 to Feb 17, 2022 in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Al-Hassawi, Khaitan and other areas in the governorate and issued 4,032 traffic citations, arrested 3,083 violators of the residence and labor laws, including 233 street vendors, and 1,025 expatriates who were staying in the country illegally and the expiry of their work permits, reports Al-Jarida daily.

This is in addition to 473 persons who were reported absconding by their sponsors and registered 59 drug cases and arrested 645 persons for not carrying identification documents. During the campaign securitymen also arrested 610 people against whom arrest warrants were registered, in addition to 8 people who had been sentenced in absentia, 10 people for possessing and/or consuming drugs and alcohol 17 expatriates for gambling, and raided an apartment which had been turned into a factory for manufacturing locally-made alcohol and one person who had entered the country illegally.
