KUWAIT CITY, April 27: The Public Prosecution has sent to the Central Prison three Kuwaitis, nine Egyptians, one Sudanese, and one Asian for 21 days detention.

The men are charged with trafficking in humans and bringing in foreign manpower in exchange for money in what is vastly known in Kuwait as the ‘visa trade’.

The issue surfaced when several people opted to benefit from the amnesty offered by the Minister of Interior for residence law violators to leave the country without paying fines and keeping the option to legally return to the country open.

During interrogation with these men, a majority of them said they had paid money to get jobs in Kuwait some to the extent of 1,500 dinars.
