KUWAIT CITY, April 29: The Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Abdullah Al-Sanea, with Judges Saud Al-Mutairi and Bassam Al-Ghunaim as members, upheld the death sentence imposed on three Iranians who attempted to smuggle more than 120 kilograms of hashish and 10,000 psychotropic pills. Coast Guard personnel apprehended them near Kubbar Island, in coordination with the Drug Control General Department, which conducted investigations. It was revealed that three Iranians on board a boat were found in possession of the abovementioned narcotic substances. They were planning to put the drugs near Kubbar Island. During the investigation, the defendants confessed they were supposed to receive KD10,000 each after coordinating with an individual who agreed to pay such an amount. However, they were caught in a well-planned entrapment and failed to smuggle the drugs.
