3 injured as factory fire breaks out in S. Korea's Siheung

SEOUL, Feb 3, (Xinhua): At least three workers were injured after a fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at an SPC Samlip food-processing factory in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, Yonhap News Agency reported. The blaze erupted around 2:29 pm on a bread production line while 12 workers were on duty. Fire authorities issued a Level 1 emergency response at 3:06 pm, dispatching about 30 vehicles and 70 firefighters to the scene.

The involved facility primarily processes food products, including baked goods and frozen foods, according to the company's official website. Police and fire authorities are conducting searches for possible victims while working to bring the flames under control. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire will begin once the situation is stabilized.
