KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Customs inspectors at Kuwait's Air Cargo Customs Department have thwarted an attempt to smuggle suspected narcotics into the country from the United Kingdom, the General Administration of Customs announced.

The seizure was made following intensive monitoring and inspection procedures that targeted three incoming shipments declared under misleading commercial descriptions, including hair oils and spare parts.

During the customs clearance process, inspectors grew suspicious of the contents of the consignments and subjected them to further examination. The inspection revealed approximately five kilograms of a liquid substance suspected to be the narcotic drug known as "chemical," concealed in a manner intended to evade detection and facilitate its entry into the country.

Customs authorities said the operation reflected the vigilance and expertise of inspectors, who continue to adapt to evolving smuggling techniques and strengthen control measures at the country's ports of entry.

The necessary legal procedures have been initiated, and an official seizure report has been prepared. The confiscated materials will be referred to the competent authorities to complete the required investigations and legal proceedings.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to tightening oversight at all customs ports and combating attempts to smuggle prohibited substances, stressing that such efforts are essential to safeguarding the security and safety of society.
