299 Stranded Filipinos Leave UAE on Emirates Flight

DUBAI/MANILA, March 4: The first group of stranded Filipinos in the UAE departed Dubai International Airport on Wednesday evening aboard Emirates flight EK336 bound for Manila, Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac confirmed. In a video message posted on X from the DMW office in Manila, Cacdac said 299 Filipino passengers — mostly women, along with infants and children — were among those on board and are expected to arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 6 a.m. Philippine time on Thursday. The group forms part of the 407 total passengers on flight EK336. Cacdac expressed gratitude to the UAE government and Emirates for facilitating the safe return of stranded Filipinos amid ongoing regional tensions.
