29 Arrested in Kuwait Drug Control Operations

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 23: The Ministry of Interior said the General Directorate for Drug Control has arrested 29 suspects in separate drug-related cases as part of ongoing security efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and drug abuse in the country.

According to the ministry, the arrests were carried out by the Criminal Security Sector during intensive operations targeting drug dealers and promoters. Officers seized various quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances allegedly prepared for trafficking and use.

Authorities also found tools used for preparing and packaging drugs, along with a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

Seized items

The Ministry of Interior said the seizures included:

- 11,936 Lyrica capsules
- 606 grams of methamphetamine
-  25 sachets containing methamphetamine
-  1,170 grams of marijuana
-  3 bags containing marijuana
-  612 grams of hashish
-  200 grams of synthetic cannabinoids
-  35 grams of heroin
-  248 Captagon tablets
- 307 methadone tablets
-  10 milliliters of wax
- 7 digital scales
- 14 bags containing rolling papers
- Empty sachets used for packaging and preparing narcotics

The ministry said the suspects, along with the seized materials, were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed that security campaigns against drug dealers and promoters will continue with full determination, stressing that it will take legal action against anyone found involved in trafficking, promoting, using or handling narcotics and psychotropic substances.

Authorities emphasized that the ongoing operations are aimed at protecting society from the dangers of drugs and reducing their spread across the country.
